Christ The King
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today, we are celebrating the feast of Christ the King. The first reading starts with the words of the Sovereign Lord and his words tells us about the things to be happened in the coming future.
Not only the first reading, all these three readings speak about the future. I shall put before you, three simple sentences with great importance, from each reading. In the first reading the Sovereign Lord says: I Myself will search for my sheep and look after them.
The last words of second reading says: The Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
And the words from Gospel : The King will say to those on his right, ‘ Come, you who are blessed by my father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
In the first reading the Sovereign Lord promises and assures his affection and protection. He affirms it repeatedly. I will search..., I will protect.., I will look after.., I will rescue.., I my self will tend... and I will search and bring back the scattered and lost sheep.
Says again: I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak... I will shepherd the flock with justice...
